Sadie Bass and her more than capable backing band rocked the house from the start, intertwining the elements of circus and music like the the bastard offspring of Cirque De Soleil (who had also recently been visitors to the Hub, but in a slightly smaller venue). The show may have been perfectly choreographed, but there is no doubting the talent that Sadie Bass has, one minute belting out a song like "So What" and then capable of drawing a collective hush with an erotically charged trip-hop version of the Divinyls "I Touch Myself."
A big venue which is used to big sporting spectacle and entertainment, Friday night at the Garden. Throughout the show, the eye was drawn to so many other events happening, but at the centre of all was Sadie Bass, the ringmistress of her own circus. Even during the gentle acoustic section, she took us down recent memory lane with "Dear Mr President", the video screens showing George W in all his glory and a poignant reminder that not of all of Alecia Moore's music is intended to Get The Party Started.
